Barbrook IV

Ringcairn

Barbrook IV, Ringcairn

I tried to locate this site by walking directly to it from Barbrook I. I would not recommend this route, as it was very hard going and extremely disorienting at times and this site is much more difficult to locate and access than it looks on paper. OS map and GPS are essential and beware of curious livestock! What remains are the collapsed remnants of a large, 25m diameter ringcairn with an excellent view up to Totley Moor in the north.

Beware, as this part of Ramsley Moor is very marshy at all times and it is probably best to skirt around this area, sticking to drier ground as much possible. The ringcairn is located past the birch trees in the near distance, towards the next stand of trees further back.
