Moscar Moor

Kerbed Cairn

Moscar Moor, Kerbed Cairn

If you want to visit a place that seems like another world, then Moscar Moor is certainly it. Initially I thought this site would be in view of Crook Hill or Winhill Pike, but it is not. Despite its quite high elevation, the view to these places is obscured. This kerbed cairn does though, lie in the shadow of the magnificence of Stanage Edge, which surely must have some significance on it being located here.

This valley is moorland, so beware. It is wet, boggy and treacherous all year round. Sensible footwear and waterproof clothing is a must. I would also suggest not visiting this site alone.
