Ash Cabin Flat

Embanked Stone Circle

Ash Cabin Flat, Embanked Stone Circle or Hut Circle

Debate remains as to exactly what this site is. I spent a couple of hours trying to decipher it on my first visit, but to no avail. Nature was against me in the form of heather and bilberry bushes that completely obscured the site. In June 2009 a burning off of the the heavy overgrowth revealed the true extent of this approximately 5m-diameter circle of stones. Some of the upright stones remain standing within the rubble embankment, all now clearly visible.
